The apparatus wagon houses advanced control and operational equipment to ensure that the rotating converter functions properly.

Among other things, there is control equipment to allow the converter to increase or decrease the amount of current sent out (the power), according to the needs of the railway network.

Additionally, the apparatus wagon contains a transformer that steps up the 3000 volts from the converter's generator to the 16,000 volts that are then fed out into the railway network.
