Manual Telephone Exchange
In April 1889, the first telephone exchange was installed at SJ. It was located at Stockholm Central Station. The exchange initially had 36 numbers (subscribers) connected when it opened.
The telephone exchange in the area nearby was located at the ferry station in Helsingborg. It remained in operation until October 24, 1962, when it was replaced by an automatic exchange.
