"Sausage Stand”
1973
The electromechanical lever frame is an intermediate between mechanical and relay lever frames. It was used only for smaller yards and was nicknamed "Sausage Stand".
Dependencies between switches and signals were achieved partly through rulers, controlled by route selectors, and partly through relay contacts.
The route-defining switches were motor-driven. Other switches and track locks were manually operable and locked with control locks, whose keys could be locked in the device.
To be able to set a route, the keys had to be in the device. When a signal was set to proceed, the keys were locked in place. This provided guarantees that the switches were set correctly.
The lever frame in Berga on the Nässjö–Oskarshamn line was in use from 1973 to 1996.
