Main Signal
"Headlight signal"
This signal serves as an entry signal to a block section in an older layout of a line block system. It was used for the left track on double-track sections. (Train traffic typically operates on the left track. Right-hand track operation may occur during maintenance work or when the left track needs repair.)
These signals were in use from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Nowadays, double-track sections have full signaling on both tracks. This means that both tracks can be used for traffic in both directions without restrictions.
