Semaphore
The semaphore informs the train driver whether they can proceed or must stop. Most semaphores were entry signals to stations, but they were also used as exit signals from stations or as signals at loading areas and at opening bridges. The semaphore could have one, two, or three arms.
This semaphore comes from Åseda on the narrow-gauge line Växjö–Västervik. It was used as an exit signal until 1993. The semaphore is displayed here in abbreviated form.
